I Am Sherlocked
One of my favorite things to wear together is the combination of casual slip-ons and a structured blazer. I like the interesting contrast between the two items and it's an easy way to achieve that "effortlessly chic" vibe.
Today, I'm wearing this cool t-shirt from Splatt MNL. If you don't watch the Sherlock Holmes TV series then you probably won't understand the text. Basically, "I Am Sherlocked" is the passcode to the mobile phone of Irene Adler, one of my favorite characters on the show. She's basically a villain who turns out to be in love with Sherlock at the end, even though she tells him that her love for him was merely a facade.
The reason I like her character so much is because I can really relate to her with regards to her feelings for Mr. Holmes. Trust me, I know exactly what it's like to fall in love with someone but having to pretend that I'm not.
Here is an exchange of words between Sherlock and Irene Adler during the episode. The dialogue affected me deeply because it mirrored something in my personal life so well.
Sherlock: "I've always assumed that love is a dangerous disadvantage. Thank you for the final proof."
Irene: "Everything I said -- it's not real. I was just playing the game."
Sherlock: "I know. And this is just losing."
